NE-Design have come close to winning a competition to come up with a concept for a Christmas Card that communicated their brand values and logo(above).

 

We used their multi coloured logo with their values as gifts underneath a tree. With over 80 entrants we are proud to have done so well, although we would obviously liked to have won.

The competition was judged by The Sharp Project’s Director Sue Woodward, the architect from PRP Alistair Weir, around thirty tenants and How-Do’s publishing Director Ben WaterhouseHogan Burrows of MOCAPONE was announced as the outright winner after a tie break situation in which the winner was finally decided by a count of the most tenant’s votes.

This is the storyboard and video we created for a 30 second TV promo for E4's Monday Night Movies.

The idea centres around the comfort of your own sofa which you can settle down in to watch the movies after a hard Monday at work. We created a sofa in signature E4 purple which replaced well known items in famous films.

An identity we created for a company called Goldex. The company exchange cash for gold. We symbolise this by using the 'o' as a gold ring made up of exchanging arrows.

These are some magazine pages we designed. They centred around an article about the link between 'thinking outside the box' and 'mental illness'. 

To reinforce this we used features such as box graphics, red 'i's, nets and an unconventional layout with upside down pages and a square format to play with the readers mind a little. The outer cover of the magazine folded out into a box. We will add images of this later.

Another idea we entered into competition for Bacardi. The idea had to involve fun flirting with Bacardi. An insight we found during research was the way flirting is used as an 'ice breaker' between people. This can relate to the drink having ice broken into it and breaking the barriers between. Our ideas that you can see here show 'frozen moments' that capture a second in time that when broken can continue. This same idea could easily be taken onto TV etc. This can be complimented by other medias such as ambient as you can see in the last image where the 'pull' handle on the door is used in a cheeky way to strengthen the campaign.

An idea we entered into competition for Bacardi. The idea had to involve fun flirting with Bacardi. We came across peacock feathers during our research. It was amazing how similar the 'eye' patterns on their tails were to the Bacardi logo. So we simply switched the 2. The strapline 'Strut your Stuff' implies the harmless posing and flirting that can be achieved with Bacardi whilst also relating to the way peacocks strut their stuff and flirt in nature.

Here is a second idea we had for a campaign promoting lastminute.com.

We used a taxi as the canvas for the idea as lots of people use this and commuters are used to travelling so may be open to new experiences. The concept was to change the seats in the taxi to stadium seats, theatre seats and deck chair seats. This puts the person directly into a situation and shows them what they could be experiencing. When folded up you see the lastminute.com link.

This is an ambient media campaign we created to promote the benefits of lastminute.com. Using negative situations, such as roadworks and the weather, we add a positive element which is the chance of an escape. With the first image you can see where we turn a dug up road into our canvas with a giant pink bucket and spade. With lastminute.com you could be sat on a beach rather than sat in traffic.

An idea we put across to innocent drinks that may be used in the future. We thought of how we could find a cheap but cheerful way of promoting the brand. This is what we came up with. A cheeky poster giving you the offer of a free mini halo with every bottle. This reflects the fun nature of the brand as well as the identity itself. The halo, of course, is just the bottle's screw cap seal which resembles a halo so the campaign would involve no extra costs or design.

Here is an example of one of the ideas we had for a poster to put across O2's idea of things being better connected. This got us thinking of dot to dots as they come to life once they are connected. We combined this idea with sport, music and other events at the O2 Arena. The example you see here is the one we designed for sport. If you look at both posters you will see the transition between the two which could be used in animated adshels.

This is an idea we had to promote table tennis. It involves the way table tennis proves to become highly addictive once you play it. We took this to the extreme with our TV ideas. One of which you see here. The concept is that anything you pick up that resembles a table tennis bat makes you have an uncontrollable urge to play table tennis resulting in ensuing chaos. The example here uses a handheld mirror, the uncontrollable movements cause the girl to totally mess up her make up.

This is an animated end sting that we created and are putting forward to BALTIC which is a modern art gallery in the North. You can see the storyboard here. The idea is that the existing logo is recreated numerous times in different contemporary art techniques.

Here are a couple of typographic book spreads we created a while back. They are designed entirely in the 'Sabon' typeface and were created to promote the font in a positive way. This wasn't the only constraint. Only black and white could be used but we feel this leant itself to the overall look of a classy font with a modern twist and we hope you agree.

Here you see an identity we created for a vitamin product for teens that may be seen in the future. The product is meant to give teens a boost when they are not always eating or drinking correctly due to University diets and typical teen habits. We designed a logo, 3D products and thought about how this would be implemented into the marketplace targetting older teens. Here you can see the products at an initial stage aswell as a couple of ideas we had for events and endorsements.

We were tasked with creating an identity for a night in Sheffield's busy club scene. This simple identity was then transferred to design ideas for flyers and Facebook banners. One of the flyer ideas can be seen here using cartoon images and a funky font to give it a distinctive style.
